Nature at Her Best Award

This award, sponsored and awarded by nature advocates Ted and Donna Williams, recognizes an artwork which epitomizes the wonders of the natural world. Chosen from among the juried-in painting and photographic artworks, the award carries a prize of $250. This award was also granted in the 2026 Festival, but this will be the first year it is publicized in advance.

Excellence in Landscape Photography Award

Sponsored by Worcester County Camera Club member Dimitry Papkov, an accomplished and recognized landscape photographer, this award is chosen by our photography jurors from among juried-in photographic entries to the festival. The award recognizes an exceptional work of landscape photography, and carries a cash prize of $250.

Fine Art Painting Jurors

Sarah Alexander – Sarah Alexander is a multi-disciplinary artist working on paper, canvas, and sculpting with steel. She is the Gallery Director at Hopkinton Center for the Arts in Hopkinton Ma. She is an Artist Member at Fountain Street Gallery. She lives in Sutton, MA.

Tom Dunlay – Tom Dunlay has exhibited widely, with one-man shows at the Boston Athenaeum, the Guild of Boston Artists, and the St. Botolph Club, as well as exhibitions at Hammer Galleries and Coe Kerr Gallery in New York. His paintings are held in numerous public, corporate, and private collections.

He has received several awards, including grants from the E. T. Green Shields Memorial Foundation, the Popular Prize Gold Medal at the Jordan Marsh New England Artists Exhibition, and two John Singleton Copley Awards. Most recently, he was awarded the Charles Movalli gold medal at the 2024 Guild of Boston Artists members exhibition. Dunlay is a member and past President of the Guild of Boston Artists. In addition to his painting career, Dunlay mentors a small group of serious students and runs a program for junior high and high school students interested in traditional painting. His teaching studios are located in Norwood, MA.

Bill Lane – Bill graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University (now UMass Dartmouth) with a BFA in Visual Design. He has studied watercolor under great artists including Judy Wagner, Paul George, Joseph Zbukvic and Tom Hughes.

Bill is an artist member of the Copley Society of Art in Boston, an exhibiting artist member of the Providence Art Club as well as a Signature Artist Member in the New England Watercolor Society and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.

Fine Art Photography Jurors

Jessica Roscio – Jessica Roscio is an art historian whose work focuses on the intersections of historical and contemporary photography. She began her career at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and is currently the Director and Curator of the Danforth Art Museum at Framingham State University. She writes on gender, material culture, and photography and is a contributor to Aspect Initiative, an online gallery focusing on innovative photographic practices in New England. She has juried numerous exhibitions across media both regionally and nationally. Roscio has an MA in Art History from the University at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in American Studies from Boston University.

Rebecca Skinner – Rebecca photographs abandoned spaces throughout the United States. She is a modern-day urban explorer seeking unique neglected structures and desolate places. Her subject matter includes images of large open spaces and details such as peeling paint and rust. Texture, color and light play an important part of her image making and she is attracted to the beauty of these places as well as the forgotten history.

Time is of the essence as some locations have since been demolished or restored, while others remain frozen in time. Danger is often present, whether it be from rotten floors, hazardous materials, or unexpected inhabitants. Skinner never goes into these places alone and she is strongly invested in leaving no trace. Working with tripod and natural light, she does not stage her photographs — there is already a story to be told without making any adjustments. Skinner is owner/ director of Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston and a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design.

Al Weems – Al is a commercial and fine art photographer with a focus on environmental portraiture. He is the consummate storyteller, inviting the viewer to share a room in his imagination with every finished piece. From his camera, he creates the initial images and within his imagination, he pieces together the intentions he sees. Every element within the frame is intentional. Al’s work has been widely published and displayed in numerous exhibitions including shows at the Providence Art Club, the Newport Art Museum, and the Art League, Rhode Island.
